sealed verdict 〈美〉密封的裁断 如果在陪审团作出裁断时法庭休庭，则陪审团可将书面的裁断装入信封并密封好。交出该密封的裁断后，陪审团即可解散。在法庭再次开庭时，将该密封的裁断正式呈交法庭，与陪审团在解散前在公开法庭上呈交裁断具有同等效力。这一做法可以使陪审团不必滞留至法庭的下一开庭时间。
